JackJumpers Championship Trophy Tours Northern Tasmania
The Tasmania JackJumpers 2023/24 NBL Championship trophy will make its way around the state over the coming weeks, supported by the Tasmanian Government, allowing more Tasmanians to be part of sporting history.
The JackJumpers operations team will take the trophy to basketball clubs, community groups, schools and businesses across the State’s North, North West and North East giving fans the opportunity to have their photo taken with the trophy.
“We’re very excited to bring this piece of Tasmanian sporting history to the people of the North and North West. We want to bring the Championship to the people, if they can’t come to us and so we’ve organised a range of locations where people can feel apart of this celebration” Head of Operations Jack Soward said.
The Trophy Tour, supported by the Tasmanian Government, comes following three major Thank You Tasmania Events in the South, North and North West in April attended by almost 10,000 people, following the club’s victory in one of the greatest finals series in NBL history, defeating Melbourne United in the five-game epic in March.
“While our players and coaches are enjoying some well-earned rest or competing in League’s around Australia and Internationally, we feel it’s important to continue to inspire and engage with Tasmanians and to continue to the celebrations by taking the trophy to more regional location in the North” Soward said.
Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on the JackJumpers social media channels as well the social media channels of the respective clubs, TJJJBL Associations, businesses and
Assistant Coach Mark Radford will take part in some stages of the tour and lead some of the JackJumpers community basketball clinics in the coming weeks.
The trophy will also visit a number of schools and make some home visits to surprise members in the North.
Fans are encouraged to permanently etch their name in history following the Championship, by making a $10 donation to the club’s Defend the Island Foundation and secure their name on the Championship Wall which will sit behind the trophy’s eventual permanent home at home games in the 2024/25 season.
All donations to the Foundation support community programs and initiatives to engage more Tasmanians in basketball.

The Championship Trophy Tour is made possible with the support of the Tasmanian Government and with generosity of Mazda Tasmania with the loan of the all-new CX-90.
