JackJumpers Triumph in Thrilling Overtime Win Against 36ers
The Tasmania JackJumpers secured a thrilling 104-103 overtime victory against the Adelaide 36ers at MyState Bank Arena, with Milton Doyle’s offensive rebound and putback sealing the win in the final moments.
The JackJumpers started strong, scoring 30 points in the first quarter, including three triples from Nick Stoddart, who made the most of his first career start. However, Adelaide responded with a 28-7 run in the second quarter to take a 53-41 halftime lead, fueled by 16 trips to the free-throw line.
Tasmania found their rhythm again in the third quarter, with three-pointers from Anthony Drmic, Majok Deng, and Jordon Crawford bringing them back into the contest. Despite Adelaide maintaining a nine-point lead heading into the fourth, the JackJumpers fought back with a 13-3 run, including key triples from Ian Hummer and Clint Steindl.
The final moments of regulation were dramatic, with a layup from Hummer and a dunk by Deng cutting the margin before a crucial 36ers turnover allowed Deng to hit the game-tying three-pointer.
Overtime saw both teams trading blows, with Adelaide briefly regaining the lead through Montrezl Harrell and Kendric Davis. However, Tasmania’s determination prevailed, culminating in Doyle’s decisive play to clinch the victory.
Reflecting on the game, JackJumpers Head Coach Scott Roth shared, “A team with my group of guys that are humble, hungry, and do the right things—you’ll go to battle with them any time. These guys just continue to show up and fight. It’s remarkable in so many ways, and we’re just not going to go away.”
Majok Deng led the JackJumpers with 26 points and 8 rebounds, while Doyle added 22 points and 9 assists. Anthony Drmic contributed 16 points and 6 rebounds, and Jordon Crawford added 13 points and 8 assists.
