The Tasmania JackJumpers are pleased to announce a significant transition within our team management, highlighting the dedication and contributions of one of our original members, Mark Chivers.

Mark has been with the JackJumpers since the club’s inception, playing a pivotal role as the original team manager across three successful seasons, including our Championship season. His commitment and leadership have been instrumental in establishing the strong foundations of our club.

Mark is also a proud member of our Bloodlines group, a testament to his deep-rooted connection with the JackJumpers community. We are excited to announce that Mark will be transitioning to lead the Bloodlines group on behalf of the club. This new role will allow him to continue fostering the strong relationships and community spirit that are the cornerstone of our club.

In addition to his new role with the JackJumpers, Mark is currently the assistant coach with the NBL1 team, the Hobart Chargers. His dual involvement with both clubs will serve as a vital link, enhancing collaboration and strengthening our ties within the Tasmanian basketball community.

CEO Christine Finnegan expressed her gratitude for Mark’s ongoing commitment: “Mark has been a cornerstone of our club since day one. His experience, dedication and passion for the JackJumpers are unparalleled. We are thrilled to have him lead our Bloodlines group and continue to play a crucial role in our community.”

Head Coach Scott Roth also shared his appreciation: “Mark’s contributions have been invaluable. He has a unique ability to connect with players and staff, and his role with the team has been a driving force behind our success. We are excited to see him take on this new role and continue to impact the JackJumpers family.”

We are currently considering potential candidates for the team manager position for the 2024/25 season and beyond. This thorough selection process aims to ensure we find the best fit to continue the legacy of excellence and dedication that Mark has established.

On behalf of our players, coaches, administration, stakeholders, and fans, we extend our deepest gratitude to Mark for his unwavering dedication and look forward to his continued contributions in his new role.
