The Tasmania JackJumpers are delighted to announce that Assistant Coach Mark Radford has signed a two-year contract extension with the club. Radford, much loved throughout Tasmania, particularly for his strong roots in the state’s north, has played a key role in the team’s development since joining the JackJumpers.

Radford brings with him a wealth of experience from his decorated career in Australian basketball. Over the years, he has held several significant coaching roles, including:

  • Basketball Tasmania State Head Coach (2016-2020).
  • Head Coach of the Australian World University Games Team (2017).
  • Head Coach of the North West Thunder (2001-2008).
  • Assistant Coach with the Australian U19 National Team (2014-2016).
  • Assistant Coach with NBL teams Perth Wildcats (2008-2010) and Adelaide 36ers (2010-2013).

Tasmania JackJumpers COO Darren Smith praised Radford’s impact:

"We are happy to have Mark extend his agreement with the club for another two years. His passion for grassroots basketball in Tasmania and his NBL experience, especially during our 23/24 championship season, make him an integral part of our team."

Mark’s renewed commitment to the JackJumpers is a testament to the strong bond he shares with the team and the Tasmanian community. His leadership continues to be a driving force behind the club’s growth, and he remains an integral part of the JackJumpers’ coaching staff as they work towards a successful season, and ultimately, winning another championship.
