Scott Roth re-signs
The Tasmania JackJumpers are delighted to announce NBL Coach of the Year Scott Roth will remain as Head Coach of the JackJumpers for at least the next three seasons after inking a new contract extension.
Scott Roth will fulfil the one year remaining on his original contract and has re-signed until the end of the 2024/25 Hungry Jack’s NBL season, with a mutual option for a further year.
“Scott has built an incredible foundation that has unified not only a great group of guys, but the entire state in supporting the club in its infancy” CEO Simon Brookhouse said.
“On behalf of the entire club – players, coaching staff, front office, partners and members – we are really pleased to secure Scott’s signature and have him at the helm for the next 3 seasons.
“It gives us stability as we move into year two and beyond, with the majority of our playing squad also locked in” Brookhouse said.
The announcement is fitting given JackJumpers partner SRT Logistics has also recently re-signed as Coaches’ sponsor for a further three seasons.
“SRT supporting ‘Scott Roth’s Team’ is the perfect match and it’s just fantastic that the partnership (and acronym!) will also continue over the next few years” Brookhouse said.
Roth will travel to Tasmania’s North and North West next week to mentor and engage with schools, community groups and basketball clubs as well as spending time with the NBL1 clubs in the State’s North – Launceston Tornadoes and North West Thunder – before taking a well-deserved break with his family in the United States.
“We know that Scott absolutely loves living here in Tasmania and wants to continue to build on what has been created in this incredible first season.
“Scott is a huge advocate for our commitment to making basketball the number one sport in Tasmania by 2024. We believe the impact of the JackJumpers and our connection with the community can continue foster that”.
Tasmania JackJumpers will celebrate the Inaugural Season MVP Awards to be held at Elwick Function Centre on Saturday 21st May.
