The Tasmania JackJumpers welcome Ian Hummer
The Tasmania JackJumpers are pleased to announce the signing of Ian Hummer for the remainder of the 2024/25 NBL season. This decision follows a reassessment of our roster needs prompted by the gap left in the team due to Jack McVeigh's absence.
The 6’7” American forward joins the JackJumpers following a successful stint with Osaka Evessa in Japan’s B1 League, where he showcased his all-around skill set. Hummer averaged 7.5 points and 5 rebounds per game and is known for his versatility and physicality.
A standout collegiate player at Princeton University, Hummer was named Ivy League Player of the Year during his senior season and concluded his collegiate career as second on Princeton’s all-time scoring list, amassing 1,625 points. His impressive background and professional experience make him a valuable addition to the JackJumpers lineup.
Head Coach Scott Roth welcomed the new recruit, stating:
“We’re pleased to welcome Ian Hummer to the team. He’s a seasoned player who will bring versatility, experience and toughness to our group as we continue to build toward our goals.”
Ian Hummer is set to join the team immediately, and the JackJumpers look forward to seeing the impact he can make as they continue their 2024/25 NBL season and Defend the Island.
