Young gun Bannan inks two year deal

The Tasmania JackJumpers are thrilled to announce the signing of one of Australia’s most promising talents, Josh Bannan on a two year deal.
The 24-year-old forward brings dynamic versatility and athleticism, after showing significant potential in two seasons in the NBL with the Brisbane Bullets following College in Montana.
“Josh is a really promising Australian talent. We’re excited to bring him into our group and see his development continue” Basketball Operations General Manager, Mika Vukona said.
"Josh has demonstrated great potential and has a strong work ethic which will hope will see him thrive in our program. His addition strengthens our forward rotation and gives us more flexibility both offensively and defensively.
6’10 Bannan put up impressive numbers in 38 games over two seasons with Brisbane Bullets, averaging 13.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in NBL25.
Bannan also spent time with the LA Clippers, playing in the NBA Summer League in 2024.
“ I'd just describe myself as someone who's a fierce competitor. I play with a lot of passion, a lot of energy, rebound the basketball and versatile on both ends of the floor” Bannan said upon signing.
Bannan labelled the JackJumpers as a destination club, with a proven record of player improvement a key attraction through the free agency process.
”My inner circle and I identified that the players that go to Tasmania tend to improve as basketball players. There are a number of people who've come into the club and left a better player than when they arrived, and that is something that is very impressive from an outsider and an environment that I'd love to be inside of” he said.
Josh and his partner Hannah are currently in France, where he is playing with Limoges CSP in France Pro A.
They will travel to Tasmania ahead of JackJumpers preseason in July.
”We feel really confident that Tasmania is a place where I can come and continue to develop as a player, and a community that we're going to be really happy and thrive in” Bannan said.
